Catch up after illness and a little end of season mental and physical fatigue. Enjoy!
So as everybody knows it can be a long season with battling illness, highs and lows and fighting for a spot on a team next year through your own good achievements.
So after a a few weeks off after a chest and throat infection I've had some good steady results allowing me to claim my first category license.
Kalas Cup National B- TT Top 30 did not go to plan and lost to much time being conservative early on. This meant I had to go all out in the RR and lay it on the line which I did! I was up the road more time than in the break. Finally with 30km remaining the break stuck with me and 3 others staying clear of the bunch for 30seconds. I finished 5th on the stage and This moved me to 16th overall. Not the result I was hoping but I didn't give up and learnt it's not over till it's over!
Reading DernyFest: 5th overall
NLTCBMBC Thundertrack meeting: 4th scratch race, 4th elimination, 4th Points, 4th overall! Haha lots of 4ths but showing the form is there and consistency is key. I just need to find that extra edge to podium and win!
Muscles and Motors Derny racing: 5th overall
Reading Grand Prix: Central Team Pursuit Champs 1st
Scratch race: 5th
With the focus heavily on the track now in order to prepare for the national derny championships I've seen some good results after not racing any track this year and solely focussing on the road. It's nice to mix it up and race on the boards. I still have work to do in order to get that extra edge but I feel like I know how to get there and just need to trust the process!
As the season slowly comes to an end I have around 6 events left. 2 of which are national championships so I'm hoping after a little mid season break of illness it has allowed me to freshen up mentally and physically which is important to keep pushing yourself as hard as possible and getting the results you work so hard for!
It would be great to finish on a high this season and end all the hard work with a Stella result!
Once again thank you to pedal potential for there support! Without them this season I wouldn't of been able to race any where near as much as I have! They have enabled me to travel the continent and experience first hand racing abroad and how fun it can be!
